Nero is an artist working primarily in black ink, creating detailed drawings that strip imagery back to contrast, tension, and raw emotion.

His work, described as ‘Surreal Expressionism’, explores the quieter, harder-to-name experiences of isolation, pressure, distortion, and the strange ways the mind reshapes reality. These are sensations that can be difficult to explain, yet instantly recognisable when seen.

Rather than offering answers, the work aims to reflect emotion back to the viewer, creating space for recognition, connection, and interpretation.

At the centre of Project Nero is the belief that even deeply private feelings are rarely experienced alone. Through Drawing Sessions and limited edition releases, the work aims to build a community connected through shared emotion, memory, and experience.
